Shalom. as-Salaam Alaikum. Welcome.
My name is Dema Taya.
I’m an Arab Muslim Israeli woman, committed to making the world a better place.
I come from a small Arab city in the center of Israel named Qalansawe, which once served as a trading center on the ancient route from Damascus to Cairo.
My father sent me to the ETC International College in Bournemouth, England where I learned to speak English and became interested in other cultures, opening my eyes to the wider world.
At 15, I starred in a film about a Bedouin girl who breaks free of her culture to seek an education.
My life experiences shaped me to become the woman I am today. Do you want to know more?
I worked for the Ministry of Communications and Diaspora under Yuli-Yoel Edelstein, accompanying the Minister to address the falsehoods surrounding “Apartheid Week Against Israel” held in Ireland.
I volunteered with the Israeli police.
Working for the Knesset, I showed international visitors our country.
I represented Israel on speaking tours across Europe and America.
